Shay, Jenny, and Rob are three-quarters of a family. The fourth is Ty, who lives on in our loving memories of him.

Ty’s mind was open and curious, always ready to find where help was needed and how he could make a difference. Ty was defined by kindness, and in a world where it can go missing, we believe his spirit can live on through us.

Many of you have asked how to honor Ty’s life. Because he loved the University of Colorado and the community he found there, creating something lasting at his school feels right.

In his memory, our family has established an endowed fund at CU to provide assistance to Environmental Studies students facing financial challenges along their college journey. We hope this fund will help open doors for others and allow the goodness Ty brought to the world to live on.

how to make a gift

To make a donation, please follow the steps below to locate the Ty Stroud Memorial Fund on the University of Colorado’s giving page:

  1. Use the button below to go to CU’s Make Your Gift page

  2. Select or designate your gift amount 

  3. Under Gift Designation, in the “Make your selection” box, type “Ty Stroud” and the Ty Stroud Memorial Endowed Fund should appear for selection

  4. Click the “+” sign, and the fund will autofill 

  5. Add your contact info to the form

  6. Select payment method or “Complete Your Gift” to pay with a credit card

  7. Complete your gift
